Set in the imaginary land of ‘Edmoral’, children and parents need to complete environmental challenges found in different treasure chests to create a magic potion that can save the kingdom from destruction. Through stories, games and activities, good environmental practices such as proper hand-washing techniques, keeping homes and public places clean and spotting mosquito-breeding areas are highlighted in this environmental resource book.

The book was co-developed by NEA and final-year students from Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s School of Humanities & Social Sciences with the Ministry of Education’s Refreshed Kindergarten Curriculum Framework in mind. The activities in the Book encourage parents and their children to explore and interact with all aspects of their environment, nurture social and emotional development in children, and teach children to take responsibility for their actions and to reflect on their choices towards their environment.
A Quest to Save the Edmoral Kingdom’ has been distributed to all K1 pre-schoolers since September 2014.
