Subsidy application for new preschool enrolment
Note: If you are transferring from another preschool, please note that it will be considered a new enrolment. ECDA will reassess your household income to determine your eligible subsidies.
Steps to apply
1. Confirm a place in a preschool
You can apply for preschool subsidy only after securing a place for your child with a preschool.
2. Submit application form
On the first day of your child’s enrolment, submit a Form 1 (Child Care Enrolment and Subsidy Application) or KF1 (Enrolment and Kindergarten Fee Assistance Scheme (KiFAS) application), Acknowledgement letter, and relevant supporting documents to the preschool.
Subsidy application process via LifeSG
ECDA is progressively rolling out a new digital subsidy application process via LifeSG to enable parents to apply for preschool subsidies directly. Parents whose children are enrolled in selected preschools will be able to apply via LifeSG from 9 Dec 2024.
Please check with the preschool to confirm if this subsidy application process is applicable to you.
Steps for applying via LifeSG
- Check that your Myinfo data is updated. All Singapore Citizens (SC), Permanent Residents (PR) and FIN holders must access the form via Singpass. You can check your Myinfo data through the Singpass app.
- Look out for an email from LifeSG within your child’s enrolment month. It will contain the link to access your form. If you do not receive the email within the first week of your child’s enrolment, please contact the preschool.
- Access the form using Singpass and follow the instructions. Passport holders who do not qualify for Singpass can access using their passport number.
- Both parents must complete the form, including uploading supporting documents, within 14 calendar days.
Note: You must complete and submit the form to ECDA within 14 calendar days upon receiving the email from LifeSG. We encourage you to start the form early as the deadline includes obtaining consent from the spouse and/or family members, and submission of additional information as required.
If you miss the deadline, your application will be withdrawn and you must request the preschool to re-trigger a new form. Any delay in your submission may result in subsidies not being disbursed on time.

3. Receive acknowledgement
You will receive an acknowledgement email and SMS from ECDA upon the preschool’s submission of your application to ECDA. If you did not receive the email or SMS within 30 days of your child’s date of enrolment, please contact the preschool.
The preschool subsidy will take effect only from the month when the application is successfully submitted to ECDA.
4. Receive outcome
ECDA will notify you via email and SMS of the outcome of your application within 1 to 4 weeks from the date of submission. Please contact the preschool if you did not receive any notification or have queries regarding your application.
