Other Financial Assistance for preschool fees
If you are a lower-income family experiencing difficult family circumstances and require further assistance with preschool fees after receiving the Basic and Additional Subsidies, you may apply for Child Care Financial Assistance (CCFA) and/or Start Up Grant (SUG).
Child Care Financial Assistance (CCFA)
You may apply CCFA for your child if you meet the following criteria:
- Your child is a Singapore Citizen and is enrolled in a full-day programme in an affordable infant or childcare centre. The family needs to consider if the monthly fee is affordable, within its budget and would not lead to financial strain.
- The main applicant is working. If not, there must be a valid reason (e.g. looking for job, medically unfit to work, incarcerated).
- Your family’s gross monthly household income is $3,500 or less, or per capita income is $875 or less.
- Your family is facing difficult family circumstances.
Start-Up Grant (SUG)
The SUG is a one-time grant to cover the initial costs of enrolling your child in an affordable infant or childcare centre. It is capped at $1,000 per child (inclusive of GST, if applicable) and covers the registration fee, deposit, school uniform, insurance and mattress.
The citizenship, employment and income criteria for the SUG are the same as CCFA's.
Your child may only benefit from SUG once. If you would like to receive the SUG again, please approach your child’s preschool to submit an appeal to MSF.
Note: CCFA and SUG application are to be made with your preschool subsidy application using Form 1 (Child Care Enrolment and Subsidy Application) upon your child’s enrolment at their preschool.
For CCFA renewal applications, please apply using Form 2 (Subsidy Update and Special Approval Application). Contact your preschool directly for assistance.
